Shipping and Tracking Orders

How long will my order take to ship?

We process and ship orders within 2-4 business days.

All orders are shipped via UPS GROUND, with an estimated delivery time of 3-7 business days.

Please note: During the holiday season, processing times may be slightly longer. Rest assured, we’re committed to getting your package to you as quickly as possible!

 

Do you offer international shipping? 

Unfortunately, at this time, we only offer shipping within the United States.

 

How do I track my order?

You will be provided a tracking number via email once your order has shipped.

Return Policy

What is your return policy? 

We believe every book has the power to surprise, delight, and maybe even change your life. Since our “Blind Date with a Book” experience is all about mystery and discovery, we’ve crafted a return policy that respects both the surprise and your satisfaction.

All Sales are Final – With a Few Exceptions

Due to the nature of our curated, gift-wrapped mystery books, all sales are generally final. However, we want you to love your experience, so we make exceptions in the following situations:

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your book arrives damaged or you receive the wrong order:

  • Contact us within 7 days of delivery
  • Email us at Lauren@thedreamersshelf.com with your order number and photos of the issue
  • We’ll offer a replacement or store credit

We Do Not Accept Returns For:

  • Disliking the genre or author
  • Receiving a book you already own
  • Discovering the book isn’t your style after opening

Avoiding Duplicates & Trigger warnings

How can I try to avoid receiving a book that I’ve already read or own?

If you would like to provide us with you Goodreads link (must be a public profile), we are happy to check your reading history, we will do our absolute best to avoid sending you a book you have already read.

There will be a section on the checkout form where you can provide us with your public Goodreads link. You can also use this section to provide us with a list of books you already own but have yet to read.

**Note:** If we cannot access Goodreads, no worries! We’ll send a **surprise selection** based on your genre preferences.

Can I tell you my trigger warnings?

Of course! If you would like us to avoid specific trigger warnings, please be sure to share that with us and we will 100% respect that. There will be a section on the checkout form where you can provide us with this information.

 

Why is there a black or red mark on the edge of my book?

The majority of our books are sourced from publisher overstock warehouses. This means that while our books are new and unread, some may have a remainder mark—a small, usually black or red mark on the edge of the pages made by publishers to indicate overstock inventory.

Purchasing from these warehouses allows us to offer a carefully curated selection of high-quality, popular titles at a more accessible price point. These remainder marks in no way affect the readability or overall condition of the book.

Please note: We do not offer refunds or exchanges for books with remainder marks, as this is a normal and expected part of our sourcing process.
